Ejari Cancellation

Ejari is the system that the Real Estate Regulatory Agency (RERA) initiated as a registration and recording portal for all rental or lease contracts in Dubai.

Tenants and landlords must cancel Ejari contracts at the time of terminating a tenancy contract. This means that any expired Ejari contracts will not be automatically deleted from the system unless submit the Cancellation request, The tenant will not be able to register a new lease contract until the old tenancy contract and Ejari Cancel.

Documents for Ejari cancellation

  • Signed Letter of no-objection required from owner.
  • Copy of the owner’s Emirates ID or a copy of their passport with the signature page.
  • If the Owner is Company, required Copy of License copy and Passport copy of Signatory.
  • In case there’s a POA by the owner, the POA should be attached if it was from notary, but if these documents were issued outside the country, then they must be attested by the UAE Foreign Affairs. The Emirates ID card of the attorney person is required as well.
  • The applicant’s original Emirates ID card.

Conditions for Ejari Cancellation

  • The attorney person by the landlord or the person registering cannot be employed by a real estate company.
  • The application must be submitted by the concerned person: such as the property owner, the tenant, PRO, or a person with an official power of attorney. A first-degree relative with a proof can Apply on behalf of the person concerned, or someone with a power of attorney.
  • If the applicant is a company delegate, they must be registered in the license.
  • If the applicant is a representative of the company, they must present a representative card in the name of the said company.
  • If the applicant is an employee, they must provide a letter of delegation with the company’s letterhead paper stamped and signed by them (the company), in addition to a copy of the applicant’s passport copy, visa page copy which proves their relation to the said company with the original Emirates ID card.
